Sumy State University in Sumy city, North-East of Ukraine was founded in 1948. Today, Sumy State University is one of Ukraine’s best universities with III-IV accreditation in the country.
The University educates around 15,000 students who are pursuing pre bachelor, bachelor, specialist and master degrees in 51 majors and 22 fields of research. Around 1300 foreign students from 50 different countries are enrolled in the university.

  3. Student Life

    There are many types of sports and each of them have their respective groups. The teams of the university are actively involved in tournaments. The students of the university are some of the elite sportsmen who win in Olympics, World Games, European and Ukrainian Championships.
    Several students actively involve themselves in the activities of drama, dance which is done by the Sumy State University’s Culture and Art Centre.
    The main goals of the Cultural and Artistic Centre are:
    1. To organize and hold culturally entertaining events
    2. To unravel the creative potential of the enrolled students
    3. To manufacture favorable conditions for the aesthetic development of the students
    4. To support their effort in the development of various types, genres of artistic & creative performing arts (music, theater, choreography, painting)
    Hostel
    Students coming from foreign nations are proffered homely hostels by the Sumy State University.
    The hostels are located in some of the most well regarded places of the city, for instance, hostel No 3 is located on the picturesque banks of the Lake Chekha and is not far from the SSU buildings.
    Hostels No 3 and No 5 are placed in areas which have forests and ponds. To organize the dining of foreign students facilities provided are: university dining hall, SSU Medical Institute dining hall, cafeteria and buffets in the educational buildings. There is a menu with a great choice for students, lecturers and the university staff: first courses, garnish, fish and meat courses, salads, juices, tee, coffee, tasty baked products and sweet dessert.
    Library
    The library of the Sumy State University holds over 3 million books and documents both in the formats of hard copies and electronic copies and gives access to the well recognized databases all over the world which are very famous. The University’s library is a prize winner of All-Ukrainian contest “Library of the Year”.
    The library is well centrally air conditioned and has all the basic facilities. It has enough space to let in an entire batch of students at once who are also provided with the latest technological requirements. With such use of traditional and modern means in the library, it provides the students with the best of resources

MBBS in Ukraine is of 6 years including 1 year of apprenticeship and 5 year of classroom learning.
