Founded on 24 May 1951, Osh State Medical University is currently one of the finest destinations for MBBS aspirants in and around Kyrgyzstan. At present more than 3500 students are pursuing their medical education in Osh State Medical University. Out of this more than 600 students are from the adjoining countries of Kyrgyzstan such as Pakistan, Nepal, India, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Iran, Palestine and Syria. Instructions are given in two languages – English and Russian. Foreign students are studying at International Medical faculty in English and students from Kyrgyzstan study at Medical faculty Osh State University in Russian. 

Medical students are trained in two main specialties – General Medicine and Pediatrics. Osh state medical university delivers the highest standards of education and is also very well known for its institutional integrity and academic honesty. The faculties in Osh State Medical University include highly qualified and well experienced local as well as foreign members. A good proportion of foreign staff is maintained so as to deliver lessons in English. Most of them hold a Doctorate in Medical Sciences. Also many outstanding scientists work along with Osh State Medical University and the physicians with the campus are working in different parts of the world. With a large number of varied medical books and International journals, the library in Osh State Medical University is class apart. Accommodation 


Hostels operates 9 hostels in total. Accommodations are provided to all international students taking admission.
Wide choice of accommodation including University hostels, private hostels, private apartments at an affordable rent are offered.
For visitors of students good living conditions are created, rooms are arranged at the rate on 2-3 people in a 4-storeyed hostel located in the downtown. Nearby there is a regional library with reading rooms.
This has a very safe environment and special measures are taken to ensure safety of all the students.
Books and other study material are available in library for the students.

The University is recognized with MCI, WHO and listed in the Avicenna Directory, International Medical Education Directory of FAIMER, and World Directory of Medical Schools.
