Amur State Medical University

 Amur State University is a higher educational institution which is located in the city of Blagoveshchensk of Russian Federation. The Amur State University was founded on March 20 1975 as the Blagoveshchensk Technology Institute on the basis of general technical faculty of the Blagoveshchensk Khabarovsk Automobile and Road Institute. In 1992 Blagoveshchensk Technology Institute converted to the Blagoveshchensk Polytechnic Institute to increase the number of specialties. On October 1994 Blagoveshchensk Polytechnic Institute received the status of the Amur State University. In last 30 years Amur State University has trained approximately 17600 students within Russia, CIS, African and Asian continent as well. At present Amur State University has pedagogical staff of 820 well educated doctors, professors and candidate of science who trains approximately 1900 students.
Amur State Medical Academy today
Today, thousands of students get education in such medical fields as: General Medicine and Pediatrics. There are 28 academic departments at the Academy. Postgraduate Departments of medical faculty are as follows:  Department of Hospital Therapy with course Phthisiopulmonology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Department of Hospital Surgery with the course of Pediatric Surgery. The main administering sub-department at the Department of General Medicine is the Department of Pediatrics. Also, producing Departments are: the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Department of Hospital Surgery with the course of Pediatric Surgery, the Department of Infectious Diseases with Epidemiology and Dermatovenereology.
The duration of the program at intramural class program of the Department of General Medicine and Pediatrics for those students, who hold complete secondary education, is 6 years; there is no extramural class program for these Departments.
The Academy has one research unit - a center of scientific laboratory.
Teaching personnel of the Academy consists of 42 Doctors of Medical Sciences, 27 professors, 58 associate professors, 142 Philosophy Doctors and 22 Honored Doctors of the Russian Federation.

Accommodation:

Hostel for students is situated not far from the Academy. It takes a few minutes to get there. There are different types of rooms in the hostels: single rooms, double rooms and rooms for four persons. There are bathrooms and kitchens for students in every hostel.
