I.Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University ranks third in Ukraine among the best medical medical schools of the IVth accreditation level according to the latest rating list of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.In the latest rating list of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine I.Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University.

Agreements on cooperation have been signed with universities from 7 countries of the world.12 years’ experience of teaching medicine in English.The student population of the faculty is over 3000, including more than 1000 foreign students.[1] Classes usually consists of 8-12 persons. There are 10 lecture-halls equipped with modern demonstration apparatus. Practical classes and seminars are held in the laboratories and thematic classrooms, while clinical training takes place in the wards and the laboratories of functional and instrumental diagnostics. Since 2006 the “Z-system” of training has been introduced, by which students in their first years learn clinical aspects together with theoretical subjects. Different departments are located at different locations around Ternopil city.

Teaching staff
The pedagogical staff numbers 408 teachers, including 71 Doctors of Science, 59 professors, 124 associate professors, and 261 Candidates of Science. The staff includes one Corresponding Member of AMS of Ukraine, 8 Honored Workers of Science and Technology of Ukraine, 3 Honored Inventors of Ukraine, and 4 Honored Physicians of Ukraine.
Hostel
Ternopil State Medical University has very good hostel system with fully furnished rooms, quiet study environment surrounded by recreation centers. All hostel rooms are furnished and vary in size and number of conveniences. Dormitory rooms at university hostels can accommodate 2 or 3 students for each room.
All rooms are equipped with a bed, mattress, pillow, blanket, desk, chair, heater, water heaters and suitable lighting for both study and relaxation. There are common areas where students can play and mingle. Upon the student’s arrival on campus, specific accommodations are assigned and after a satisfactory health report, the student will be accommodated to the room which is allotted to him.
In the hostel, each room is equipped with kitchen provided for students to cook food to their own taste. Students will need to supply with their own kitchen utensils. Meals may be bought from various food outlets.
All rooms have attached washrooms.Along with this Ternopil State Medical University also provide mess for foreigner students according to there food.
Library

The TSMU was developing as well as the supplies of the library, its book collection, staff and readers were increasing too every year. The library moved to new premises in a morphological building. In the early 60’s new division of literacy acquisition and scientific ordering, reference and bibliographic division, circulation division for study materials and non-fiction and a reading hall were created.
Alphabetical and systematic catalogs, and afterward a subject one has been being arranged since the first days of the library functioning. The funds have been also accomplished with new works in medicine, social studies, fiction, and international literature.
